University of Plymouth Selects Drew & Co

A Millfields-based firm of electrical contractors has been selected by the University of Plymouth to install new equipment as a result of registering on sell2plymouth.

Drew & Co were awarded the contract to install new switchgear at the University’s Babbage Building after beating off stiff competition from a number of other electrical contractors.

"We were delighted with the feedback from the University which stated that we were selected after a rigorous process on the basis of our technical merit, quality, pricing, time for delivery and commitment to the environment," commented Andrew Boterill, Managing Director of Drew & Co.

The opportunity arose after the University had to undertake an urgent tender, and looked to those companies who had completed their Business Registration Questionnaires and were green flagged on sell2plymouth.

Sell2Plymouth is a partnership between Plymouth’s public sector buyers, local business support agencies and both the Chamber of Commerce and the Federation of Small Businesses. It offers small and medium sized companies the chance to win contracts with the city’s public sector organisations by providing a user–friendly portal and a simple, single registration process.

Jenny Bushrod, Head of Procurement at the University of Plymouth, said: "This is exactly the kind of success story that Sell2Plymouth was set up to provide. It demonstrates the importance of completing the Business Registration Questionnaire which enabled us to quickly select companies that had the necessary registrations in place.

"We look forward to working with Drew & Co and would encourage more enterprising companies like them to register on the website and complete the business registration questionnaire so that they stand a better chance of winning contracts in the public sector."
